Hi, I have a question about home theater audio.
I live in a smallish apartment and have decided to use a 2.1 sound system to go with my Samsung LN40A550 that I just purchased. I will be using the TV for gaming, bluray / dvd and television. I will have my PS3 connected through hdmi, and my TV connected through component.
After some research, I think I’m going to purchase these speakers: Logitech Z-2300 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc…82E16836121122)
I want to make sure this will work before I make the purchase. Can I connect these speakers / sub into the headphone jack of the TV, and have all my devices sound use these speakers? IE, will my PS3 (going into the TV via hdmi) be able to use these speakers out of the TV using the headphone jack? Or do I need some sort of reciever?
Would this be a good setup for a 2.1 system?
I am not an audiophile, I just would like higher quality sound than the built in speakers on the TV which I have read aren’t that great. any help / suggestions would be great, thanks in advance.
