One great way to hide speaker wires is to use adhesive flat wire.

This wire is flat. all you do is position it, peel off the backing to stick it to the wall, then just spackle over it (done with a putty knife and a bit of sandpaper) and paint. Presto! This works well in areas where you couldn't drill anyway, such as running wire along ceiling beams.

If you don't want to drill, you can buy cord hiders that run along the bottom of your baseboards. It blends in so well and hides those ugly cables. You can get them at Lowe's or Home Depot.

If you have a crawl space or attic to this room you can run them either direction. Drill through rims to get wires into walls. From there you need a fish tape (steel wire) to thread the speaker wire through the walls. The only place you'll need to cut the dry wall is where you want to put your speaker connection plate. You'll want to silicon up the holes in the rim once you have the wire through to insulate it well.
