Have no sound connected from ps 3 to tv via hdmi. Want to use the av cable that came with the psa 3 to output audio to my home theater and only connect the red and white wires.

that would work but then u wouldnt be able 2 use the hdmi source if ur not gettin sound from ur hdmi what u should do is a fiber optic cable if ur home theater or surround sound has that.. remember if ur gonna use hdmi run that into ur tv and tv into ur theater or surround thats where u can use the white and red or i prefer fiber optic cable for the best sound u can get 5.1
