Question by Psycho9000: I get a no signal message in my Bravia tv when trying to connect a sony home theater trough HDMI connection?
I connected my xbox in the same HDMI port and it worked with the same HDMI cable.

Best answer:

Answer by kg7or
If you have a cable or satellite box, my choice is to connect directly to the TV via HDMI and to the home theater system via another output from the box. I actually do it with simple red-white audio cables, and the surround-sound audio from the home theater amplifier is outstanding.

You might find a different way to do it with your system, but in any case, see if you can connect directly to the TV from the cable/sat. box, and independently to the home theater amp via another output.
————
Followup: there’s another advantage of doing it this way. If your cable/sat. system has music channels, you can select one of those channels and listen to the music without turning on the TV.
