The system I recommend is the Onkyo HT-S5200 (receiver 7.1 and a set of 7.1 speakers) for under 0. Wireless speaker are more expensive if you can find them in higher models. I don’t like them due to interferance from other equipment you might have. Even at the very high end in audio, you will not find them. You can the Onkyo system at Fry’s Electronic’s. Hope this will help you out.

As with everything you get what you pay for. There really is no such thing as a “good home theater system”. If you want good quality you have to avoid these all in one systems and get individual components. You can not do this for . Even a cheap receiver of any quality at all is going to be 0. A decent powered sub another 0 or more, decent speakers about the same plus a player. It’s hard to put together even the most basic system for under 00.

That thing from Amazon is likely to sound worse than whatever speakers are built into your TV. It definitely isn’t going to have wall shaking bass. Don’t waste your money, start saving now and build up enough cash to get something you can really enjoy.

By using your SUB-out from the Yam you have done something in the menu/setup of the Yam that tells it you have a sub and that it now redirects the appropriate frequencies to the sub, that being said, if you also hook up a sub with speaker level inputs the Yam might not be sending bass frequencies to you speakers because it knows that it has a sub connected to the sub-out – make sense? You will have to explore weather the Yam applies it’s bass management to 2.0 inputs, I know my older RXV995 uses the same bass management settings no matter which input I am using – so no easy answer.
You might have to go into the Yam setup whenever you are listening to 2.0 music and turn off the sub thus dis-engaging the internal x-over of the Yam and having it send full range output to your main speakers with your sub connected via speaker level inputs. Hope this helps, good luck
