I install home theaters .. and I Guarantee you can not enjoy a film that peaks at 130db..

REFERENCE levels are specified as an average of 85db and peak at no more than 105db. That is what I look to achieve with clarity and 95% of the time a customer will watch it much lower.

@jlvsoundengineering Your system is terrible man. You use Bose speakers with Yamaha amps lol You need to spend you money wiser and buy quality peices. Find a local high end audio retailer and ask them to give you a demo. You will understand what you are missing out on.

I agree with you 100%. If a person is speaking on-screen and you can’t talk to someone sitting next to you because of the volume level, it’s unnatural and not true home theatre in my opinion.

The whole idea is to reproduce the experience the director intended, not revise to some manic standard set by your ego and wallet.

I still don’t understand why they make sterio subs. U can’t hear were the low frequencies are coming from. Higher frequ needs multiple channels.
